This tour stop is located near where E. Carswell Road crosses over Fire Prairie Creek just west/southwest of Buckner in Jackson County, Missouri. Following the Second Battle of Lexington on October 19, Maj. Gen. Sterling Price ordered the Confederates to march west the next day. After another 20 miles or so, the Confederate Army of Missouri went into camp in this general location.
